Western International University-is a dynamic,
modern university with high standards of teaching and a growing reputation
for individualized learning where a combination of live and recorded classes,

Rhetorical Devices- The word rhetorical means using
language well. Device in this sense, according to William Shakespeare,
is anything fancifully conceived. So "Rhetorical Device" just
means a fancy way of saying something. Click
to view a complete list of terms for different rhetorical devices.
Annotated Bibliography- An annotated bibliography is a list
of citations to books, articles, and documents. Each citation is followed
by a brief (usually about 150 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph,
the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader
of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited. Click

Basic Sentence Patterns- Although ordinary conversation,
personal letters, and even some types of professional writing (such as
magazine stories) consist almost entirely of simple sentences, WIU instructors
will expect you to be able to use all types of sentences in your formal
academic writing. Click here to see a handout.
APA 101-Although I don't expect to hold students to a very
rigid standard for APA format, you do have to know the general outlines
of the format and how to implement it. Click here
